Part 1

Part 1 – The ‘Floating Gold’ videos

Our first piece of work together is the video series ‘Floating Gold‘.

Using a practice known as ‘livecoding’ in conjunction with video streaming technology, we were able to improvise music synchronously between multiple locations in Scotland, the USA and Indonesia.

Peni Candra Rini worked with a team of videographers in Indonesia to produce a stunning series of eight video performances based on the improvised music:

1. Maskumambang
2. Gayatri
3. Pari
4. Lautan
5. Ibu Bhumi
6. Kidung Kalbu
7. Welasana
8. Majapahit

The Javanese lyrics for each piece together with Bahasa Indonesia and English translations are available on YouTube as captions, and also on this page.
